It is amazing that 90% of players are actually not watching the ball…
The most common cliché we hear on the tennis court is, “watch the ball!” While it is a great thing to remind yourself to do, the big question is… are you actually doing it???
A recent study showed that 90% of players (from touring professionals to recreational warriors) DO NOT WATCH THE BALL at the point of contact… That means 90% of you are probably not watching it either! The only true way to know is to see it on video analysis, and then train your eyes to focus correctly.
We recently launched the “Eye Coach” training aid at TSR, and I have been shocked at how much it can help players of ALL LEVELS to improve both their contact and their technique. When you truly understand that head movement controls the racquet path, you start to feel the difference between hitting the ball and hitting it “cleanly.” Many of you have had a lesson with the Eye Coach and seen the results. This is not my opinion, the video analysis shows it!
We are seeing instant results, and one of the benefits is that you can purchase one to practice at home with! To learn more and to find out if you are a member of the 90% club, book a 30 minute “Eye Coach” lesson with any of our trained professionals!!!
