Taconic Sport & Racquet has an excellent mix of staff, including International Tennis Pros, who will help you improve your tennis game. Our team, are experienced and knowledgeable, but above all, they are passionate teachers of the game.
General Manager & Owner
Simon is a partner of Taconic Sport & Racquet and our General Manager. He is a local Dutchess County resident and highly respected Tennis Professional in USA tennis circles. Simon’s tennis career started in Australia and he has been in the US tennis community since 1999. Prior to joining Taconic Sport & Racquet Simon was the General Manager at Yonkers Tennis Centre for nearly 12 years. Simon was awarded the 2014 Tennis Industry “Youth Provider of the Year” for his commitment to teaching children in a progressive, innovative and fun way. In 2010, he was named the USPTA Eastern Facility Manager of the Year.
Simon has coordinated 10 and Under Tennis at many prestigious events including; Powershare Series at Madison Square Garden (2014), White House Easter Egg Roll (2012), the USS Intrepid Tennis Event (2011 & 2012), the Times Square Tennis Event with John McEnroe in NYC (2011) and the Nickelodeon Worldwide Day of Play in Washington DC.
Robin is one of the partners of Taconic Sport & Racquet and our Controller. She has almost 25 years experience working as an accountant in both the public and private sector. Robin has spent the last 10 years combining her accounting skills with managing commercial and residential properties. Her love of tennis and this club has made working here her dream job.
Adult / Junior Programmer & Tennis Professional
Corey joined the Taconic Sport & Racquet team in May 2016. He recently graduated from Ferris State University with a B.S. in Marketing and Professional Tennis Management and is certified in PTR 10 & Under, Cardio Tennis, PTR Adult Development, and is waiting for his certification in USPTA. Corey’s love for tennis came from school sponsored tennis camps from the high school tennis coach. He is looking forward to bringing that same experience and the love of the game to children who attend Camp TSR.
Cole grew up in Ramsey, Minnesota. He recently graduated from Ferris State University, where he earned a B.S. in Business, with major in Professional Tennis Management, and a Marketing concentration. He is certified in Cardio Tennis, USPTA, PTR Adult Development, PTR 10 & Under, and is a USRSA Master Racquet Technician. During Cole’s time at Ferris State, he was the university’s Club Tennis President, where he ran tournaments, in house leagues, as well as Play Days for the junior program.
He has spent summers working at country clubs and held a Director of Tennis position at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, where he also spent time teaching Pickleball. Coming to us from Lifetime Fitness in Minnesota, Cole has experience as a teaching professional with junior and adult clinics, private lessons, cardio tennis, and video analysis lessons.
Tennis Professional & Camp TSR Director
Jaye was born and raised in Clinton Corners, began coaching in 2009. She has a passion for teaching children and specializes in our 10 and under program and is our Summer Camp Director. Her teaching career began at Taconic Tennis, and her goal is to instill the love of tennis to the children she teaches so that they can enjoy it for a lifetime.
Carol was born in Poughkeepsie, and she has played tennis since she was a young girl. Her teaching career began here back when the club was Americana, and she also spent time teaching when it was Sport & Wellness. She comes to us now from the Saw Mill Club in Mount Kisco. During her 8 years there, she was a Teaching Professional, Tournament Director, Adult Programmer and Program Administrator. She is passionate about tennis, and she is very excited to join the team here at Taconic Sport & Racquet. Carol says that at TSR, she has found a home that “embraces tennis as a life-changing business and uses tennis and other activities as the vehicle for change and to better oneself”.
Zbig started his career as a Tennis Professional in Poland in 1984. In Poland, he coached juniors who went on to be National Champions and ranked on the ITF junior tour. One of his players won the juniors singles title at Australian Open and reached a career-high WTA ranking of world number 30.
In 1990, Zbig moved to the US and joined the Americana (a predecessor to TSR) teaching staff. He is Certified USPTA, Taught at Dutchess Racquet Club, Carmel Golf & Tennis and over the summer he teaches at Millbrook Golf & Tennis Club.
Sebastian love of tennis began at the Americana Club as a young player. He was a member of his high school tennis team and enjoyed some success playing 1st singles being named All-League on three occasions, and winning the league title twice. Before attending the University at Albany, Sebastian was part of the winning NY state Division III.
Sebastian began his teaching career in 2011 working at Taconic Tennis and during summer he teaches at Millbrook Golf and Tennis Club. Sebastian strives to bring the joy of the game to everyone who steps on the court.
Director of Pickleball
Ken is a certified instructor, as well as an avid pickleball player. He has a wealth of competitive experience, from playing in tournaments around the country. With his help, we hope to continue growing our pickleball community.
Membership & Marketing Coordinator
Alara joined the Taconic Sport & Racquet team in December 2016. Growing up in Hopewell, she graduated from John Jay, where she played on the varsity tennis team and served as captain during her senior year. She graduated from Oswego State University with a B.S. in Zoology/B.A. in Spanish. After graduation, she worked in customer service, including experience at another tennis club as well as in the financial industry.
She started a non-profit organization, which she runs with her father, giving her experience in public outreach, marketing, social media, and event planning. She is your contact for any membership questions or questions about promotions & community events.
Stephanie joined the Taconic Sport & Racquet team in July 2016 as our part time bookkeeper. She was born and raised in Wappingers Falls and a graduate of John Jay. In addition to working with Taconic Sport & Racquet she also works with the Wappingers Central School District as the Internal Claims Auditor and Extra-Classroom Faculty Advisor.
Stephanie has over 10 years experience working in financial roles across a number of different industries. She will be your point of contact for all account-related questions.
Front Desk Coordinator
Jennine joined Taconic Sport & Racquet in early 2016 as a front desk assistant, and then in July 2016, she was given the added responsibility of being the Front Desk Coordinator. She is a huge asset to TSR, and she is often the ‘glue’ that holds our team together!
Jennine was born and raised in Mahopac, NY until she was a teenager. She went to college in upstate NY. She earned a bachelor’s in Psychology, and she has spent time living in both Boston and Maryland. Jennine later returned to NY and moved to Hopewell Junction to start a family of her own.
