Our range of instructional programs are designed to meet your tennis needs, regardless of your experience or level of play.
What is an Instructional Clinic and why should I join?
Ongoing, progressive, scheduled and consistent time on court with a Tennis Professional is a great method to improve your tennis game and skills. These Instructional Clinics offer consecutive weeks of playing and drills with feedback and instruction from a Tennis Professional. You will work on technique, point play strategy, mental focus, and footwork.
These Instructional Clinics allow the Tennis Professional to invest in you as a player. The Tennis Professional will continually observe your game, technique and skills while offering ongoing feedback. You will practice game situations, specific shots, various strokes and strategies to win points. For USTA players, this is invaluable information you will learn on the courts at TSR, and bring with you to every match. These clinics will allow you to feel prepared and confident when facing your opponents. For non-competitive players, the clinic will allow you to progress your skill-set while having fun. We encourage you to dedicate this time to your game and to yourself, we are confident you’ll be pleased with the results.
Who will be in my Instructional Clinic?
Clinics are built with consideration to skill level and schedule availability. You can join a TSR Instructional Clinic by letting Andria know your preferred day/time (firstname.lastname@example.org). TSR Instructional Clinics can be scheduled during the day, evening or weekend. Clinics are built by level, so all players in a TSR Instructional Clinic will be at or near similar skill. Or you can Build Your Own: BYO Instructional Clinic
If you have a group of players you’d like to learn with, members of a team, or doubles partners, then build your own clinic! The BYO Instructional Clinic offers the flexibility of choosing who’s in your group, which Tennis Professional you’d like to play with and what time you play. The BYO Instructional Clinics run for entire season, 36 weeks from September to May. Just let Andria know your preferences, and we will do our best to make it work! Click here for full details.
Can I make suggestions about what I want to work on?
During the first week of your clinic, the Tennis Professional will lead a group discussion. You will discuss goals for the clinic, goals for your game, USTA plans, and anything else that pertains to your learning experience. This will allow the Tennis Professional to customize the clinic to the needs of the group. The Tennis Professional will intermittently open this discussion throughout the session to ensure the clinic is on track. Feedback is welcome from participants at any time.
Practice what you learn!
The Drop-ins are the perfect way to practice what you learn in your clinic. Drop-ins don’t offer instruction or Tennis Professional feedback, but do offer the opportunity to put to work the skills you’ve learn in your clinic! We recommend players utilize the Drop-ins as an adjunct to their clinic. Much like youth sports, the “Instruction and Play” concept proves playing twice per week or more offers maximum player improvement.
We encourage you to join an Instructional Clinic and dedicate time to your game and to yourself, we are confident you’ll be pleased with the results!
