COURT KIDS PHILOSOPHY:
Court Kids activities are designed around an active environment where children develop core skills through a variety of play-based activities, work to achieve tasks, and are motivated to be active. Participants will engage in fun, energetic game-based activities to develop 10 core fundamental motor and tennis skills which include: Running, Sidestepping, Jumping, Midline Crossing, Throwing, Catching, Forehand, Backhand, Volley and Serve. Fundamental motor skills form the basics of all sport specific skills. They create the building blocks that support the development of balance, coordination and agility. A child that develops these skills will have the necessary fundamentals to learn the game faster and adapt techniques into skills.
Court Kids participants play with the foam/Red Ball to focus on fundamental tennis concepts helping to accelerate their progress and skill set. The foam/Red ball is 75% slower than a yellow ball. The courts are half the size (36’x18’) and racquets are the perfect size for players. The proper size equipment allows players to grow with the game as they grow their skillset. This also allows development of good technique and use of realistic tactics.
The Court Kids program offers a fun and engaging method that promotes development of an active child and social and emotional skills such as cooperation, patience and self-control.
Tennis Professional staff will be rotated through classes. Court Kids may or may not have the same tennis professional for the entire session, coaches may be changed or swapped at any time. Our Tennis Professionals are all taught to follow protocols and curriculum as a team. All members of our Tennis Professional staff are engaged, experienced, and bring a high level of skill when working with our players.
